Se especializa en la obtención de enzimas de origen microbiano, produccion, purificacion e inmovilizacion para su aplicacion en procesos de biocatálisis. Actualmente, trabaja en la búsqueda de nuevos bionanomateriales tales como bionanopartículas metálicas y biomoléculas como polímeros microbianos, proteínas estructurales y biofilms. Se enfoca en procesos que asocian la biotecnología y la nanotecnología de manera de obtener bioproductos para su aplicación en diversas áreas como la industria alimentaria, farmacéutica, agrícola y en procesos de remediación ambiental.
