Mi rama de especialidad es el área de los materiales poliméricos naturales enfocados en aplicaciones en ciencias de los materiales, biomedicina y de los alimentos. En particular, mi línea de investigación plantea la utilización de materiales de origen natural (preferentemente a partir del aprovechamiento de residuos o subproductos agroindustriales) para el desarrollo de biomateriales para su aplicación en películas biodegradables (para ser utilizadas como agentes de liberación controlada de fármacos o como material de recubrimiento activo de alimentos) o para la microencapsulación de ingredientes alimentarios de alto valor agregado beneficiosos para la salud humana. En los últimos años, también me enfoque en la utilización de solventes eutécticos en combinación con matrices naturales para el desarrollo de films o geles eutécticos para aplicaciones en recubrimiento activo de alimentos y biomedicina como sensores de movimiento, presión, temperatura o de latidos cardíacos, o como adhesivos biomédicos. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
