This class of compound shows biologicalactivity against some neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), making approaches to theirsynthesis particularly pertinent. Our methodology offer a greener alternative than thosepreviously reported as it uses only water and ethanol as solvents. Moreover, with asimple modification in the work-up, we could avoid liquid-liquid extraction and columnchromatography; product isolation being achieved by pH-dependent precipitation. Herepresent an assessment of our protocol using different simple sustainability metrics, suchas E-factor, CHEM21, EcoScale, Dozn, and Green Star.
