The article proposes a series of displacements in cultural history that allow us to understand how the notion of popular creativity –and its connections: skills, knowledge, tactics, resistance, the “disguised forms of popular resistance”– was deployed and analyzed in the Latin American neoliberal decade, characterized by the Argentinean Aníbal Ford as a period of crisis of the popular experience. This allows us to link the “wire culture” –from humor– with Carlo Ginzburg's inquiries about conjectural knowledge, as well as with Beatriz Sarlo's investigations into what she calls technical imagination: popular culture thus appears as an abductive form of knowledge. These are texts produced in a short space of time: the first edition of Ginzburg's work in Spanish is from 1983 –1979 in the original Italian–, Sarlo's book is from 1992, Ford's from 1994; the three, then, framed in the simultaneous appearance of the concept of postmodernity and the neoliberal reorganization of societies. Thirty years later, no one talks about postmodernity anymore, but we insistently encounter the renewed consequences of said neoliberal reorganization. The question that organizes the text is whether this story allows us to understand popular creativity in the –also renewed– contemporary crisis.Palabras Clave
