Mi área de investigación es la genética de poblaciones y evolución, principalmente con especies nativas de la zona Patagónica. El grupo de investigación tiene dos grandes objetivos: 1) estudiar las adaptaciones de las poblaciones ante el cambio climático global y 2) domesticar las especies nativas de mayor importancia económica. Aplicamos abordajes complementarios como la genética de poblaciones (marcadores moleculares neutros), la genómica poblacional (marcadores adaptativos), la transcriptómi... Mi área de investigación es la genética de poblaciones y evolución, principalmente con especies nativas de la zona Patagónica. El grupo de investigación tiene dos grandes objetivos: 1) estudiar las adaptaciones de las poblaciones ante el cambio climático global y 2) domesticar las especies nativas de mayor importancia económica. Aplicamos abordajes complementarios como la genética de poblaciones (marcadores moleculares neutros), la genómica poblacional (marcadores adaptativos), la transcriptómica (RNAseq), la ecofisiología (ensayos de estrés abiótico), el modelado de nicho ecológico y la genética cuantitativa (ensayos a campo de progenies y procedencias). El trabajo es interdisciplinario, pero mi experiencia más fuerte es en el uso de marcadores moleculares en genética poblacional (flujo génico, historia postglaciaria, variación a lo largo de gradientes ambientales) y en aplicaciones prácticas (impacto del manejo, cultivo, plantaciones).
