Purpose: The inclusion of Life Cycle Thinking in the undergraduate education of careers related sustainable development promotes comprehensive, reflective and critical development of students in the context of environmental sustainability in their daily work. In this regard, it was proposed to develop a new subject and to implement for the first time in Argentina, an undergraduate career course that offers contents related with the Life Cycle Thinking. Methods the syllabus was developed to ensure that students acquire skills to incorporate sustainability criteria in the design, development and optimization of products, processes and services. Results and Discussion: The subject entitled 'Sustainability of the supply chain and life cycle of products, processes and services' was approved in 2012, as elective undergraduate course of the Chemical Engineering career from the National Technological University in Mendoza (UTNFRM), Argentina. The first edition started on August, 2013 and continues on the second semester of each year until 2017 when a review of the content will be carry out. Conclusions: An increasing interest in learning about sustainability tools has been perceived from the students of the two cohorts which took the course since 2013. The course gives them tools which allow them to find alternatives of product design and production systems, when pursuing environmental sustainability. The tools give them also the ability to evaluate results during the design process. On the other hand, we saw in the students a broad acceptance of the teaching resources incorporated into the course as well as a major initiative to participate in discussion forums and widespread the new knowledge achieved.Key words: Life Cycle Thinking, Education for sustainability, Argentina
