Hookworm infection is a common cause of iron-deficiency anemia in endemic tropical and subtropical areas. Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus are the most common hookworm species associated with human infection. In this report we present a case of iron deficiency-anemia cause by hookworm infection detected by upper endoscopy under narrow band imaging technology.
