The simple alkylation of pyrene makes polymerization possible. The above describedpolypyrene has a large dihedral angle between repeat units, which helps suppressing aggregation and excimer emission. The blue-emitting polymer is thermally resistant. Its deployment in OLEDs is also demonstrated.
