The paper seeks to highlight the esoteric foundations of Lugones’sreading of Dante........Nella Buenos Aires del primo Novecento, uno dei maggiori scrittori argentini, Leopoldo Lugones, sviluppa un’interpretazione esoterica dell’opera dantesca, che fa fulcro sulla teoria stilnovistica della donna angelo, e con un particolare interesse per le figure di Francesca e Beatrice. Il presente saggio studia i principali testi danteschi di Lugones, dal racconto Francesca (1909) al romanzo El ángel de la sombra (1926) ai saggi degli anni Trenta pubblicati sul giornale La Nación e raccolti postumamente sotto il titolo El ideal caballeresco, mettendo in luce il fondamento esoterico della lettura lugoniana di Dante.
