The demographic trend of population aging will dominate the coming decades. Argentina is undergoing an advanced process of societal aging, which presents new challenges in ensuring the healthy aging of older adults. Despite its importance, socioeconomic inequalities persist in health status and access to healthcare for a group characterized by declining health and increased medical needs. The Argentine Social Debt Observatory annually analyzes indicators of living conditions and human development in urban households through the Argentine Social Debt Survey, which employs a probabilistic, multi-stage sampling design. The results reveal socioeconomic disparities in the physical and mental health conditions of individuals aged 60 and older. Promoting healthy aging should focus on improving the physical and mental well-being of a heterogeneous group with diverse aging profiles.
