The Rosario Urban Agglomeration (AGR, as its initials in Spanish) is the most populous city in the province of Santa Fe and the third in the urban hierarchical order of the Argentina Republic. The population dynamics of the urban area in the last intercensal period (2001–2010) reveals a growth of 6.5%, relatively low, though in accordance with experienced dynamics by the largest urban areas of the country and primarily those which are located in the Pampas region. AGR is characterized by a contrasting population dynamics in its interior and is in a stage of advanced suburbanization, showing an adaptation of its urban structure to the main models of the Latin American city. Regarding quality of life, the situation was developed in 2010. It can be pointed out that it presents a moderately favorable situation with regard to the total of the departments of the country. Rosario, in terms of quality of life, is a highly irregular area. In the mature suburban area, high rates can be observed. The low scores are in vast sectors of the periphery. However, in this same sector, there are enclaves of high indexes, which correspond to new neighborhoods, derived from suburbanization processes of high-income socioeconomic groups. In this way, the urban periphery of Rosario is contrasted by exposing phenomena of socio-spatial fragmentation.
