In the 1920s, at Buenos Aires city, the issue of idiomatic correction became a recurring theme in different public spaces. The popularity of tango, radio, the mass media and popular books showed that language could be the object of public interventions and debates. In particular, we are interested on drawing attention to the editorial column published for more than twenty years by the journalist Francisco Ortiga Anckermann, under the pseudonym “Pescatore di Perle”, at the magazines El Hogar and Atlantida with a pedagogical goal in front of his readers, while in a satirical way he taught the correct uses of language. He masked, however, a criticism of customs in which his author put in check the consequences of social democratization in Argentina, recovering the idea of “cursiparla” by Leopoldo Lugones.Palabras Clave
