Resumen

Since the urban mobility problems increased, transit-oriented development strategies have regained prominence. Those strategies argue that the inefficiency of public transport is due to the urban sprawl and propose high mixed-used densities for its roads. The TOD Standard (2017) is a guide to evaluate and qualify existing or designed transportation areas according to their adequacy to TOD. Because Santa Fe Area (Argentina) has those problems, the objective of this article is to apply the quantitative methodology of the Standard for studying an inactive railway station. The idea is to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses as a possible node for the urban development. Emphasizing on the spatial variable, the article is divided into two parts: a diagnosis of the case study and then a valuation of the chosen area based on that quantitative method.
