Resumen

In this paper, we analyze the intra and interregional interaction of the inhabitants of the Catamarca’s Puna region during the middle of XIXth century to late XXth century, using the Internodal Studies theoretical and methodological framework. The research articulated two main sources of data: the archaeological record generated directly over the roads and trails and the oral memory recovered from interviews done to informants that participated in muleteering journeys until middle XXth century, between the Catamarca’s puna and neighboring regions. The information obtained allowed us to identify continuities in the use of space, and in the way of comprehend and conceptualize the places asociated with traffic and with other internodal activities.
