This study is part of the processes of change and deepening socio-spatial inequality that has developed for cities in Latin America. In this sense, this article aims to describe, characterize and analyze what have been the processes that have guided the growth of the agglomerate Gran San Miguel de Tucumán (Northwest Argentine), taking into account that this case replicates many of the characters that have occurred In other Latin American cities. The studies presented in this article provide an interpretation of the main processes involved in the growth of the Gran San Miguel de Tucumán agglomerate, highlighting, in turn, the particularities of these processes in the Tucuman context. It counts both a historical and prospective look.Palabras Clave
