The article presents the results of a qualitative analysis of the main dimensions of child labour studied in Argentina. Considering the approaches and perspectives of the investigations of the last 5 years on the subject, the article develops the following topics: 1) macro-structural processes, informal employment, and situations of poverty as main determinants of child labour; 2) the importance of the sociocultural context and the studies that claim the agency of boys and girls as possible informants; 3) the positions that affect the risks, considering child labour as a form of child deprivation; and 4) the studies that represent gender conditions as a differential variable in children’s trajectories. The work is based on a systematic review of secondary bibliographic sources from SCOPUS, SCIELO, DIALNET, and REDALYC repositories, using the MAXQDA software. To conclude, we suggest that contemporary research on child labour includes challenges in relation to its current approaches, promoting a necessary reconceptualization of its categories under study.Palabras Clave
