In this article we reflect, from a socio-anthropologicalperspective, on the way in which the construction of therights approach for the child protection in Argentina hasacquired specific and situated meanings that, in the currentinstitutional scenarios, give new meaning to the practices andintended views. Based on two ethnographic investigations thatare located in "medium" localities in the interior of Argentina,we recover the records of daily work, and the relationships, disputes and singularities that are mobilized and managed in the administrative organizations in charge of managing ExceptionalProtection Measures for children “with violated rights”. ?eintention of this article is to show how those ideals that promoteactivism for children's rights -which were the cornerstone of thelegal-bureaucratic scaffolding of the Rights Protection System-are resignified, shaped and updated by revealing moral andmoralizing narratives about the work of care and upbringing ofchildren and adolescents. ?ese are narratives built from plots oflocal and subjective meanings that play the active and creativerole of the actors that integrate or pass through these stateperformances. We warn that it’s the complex and overlappingintersection between regulations, moralities and disputes thatguides the practices and institutional interventions aimed atguaranteeing the protection or well-being of children and theeffects that arise from these as well.Palabras Clave
