?is article focuses on a corpus of letters sent by female senders to Juan and Eva Perón during early Peronism. Understanding the epistolary practice as a place of enunciation and production of a popular subjectivity, the aim of this paper is, therefore, to trace how "ordinary" women identified with Peronist discourse and contested the new social order. ?us, from a theoretical approach centered on political and gender performativity, we problematize a certain reading of the connection between women and Peronism, coined by the feminisms of the time but subsequently consolidated. As we intend to demonstrate, taking for granted that according to this approach Peronism constituted a retrograde regime in terms of sex and gender, the letters analysed here exhibit critical approaches that allow us to discuss this interpretation.Palabras Clave
