The initial results of the archaeobotanical analysis of woody material recovered during the excavations of the Corporate Headquarters of the Banco de la Provincia de Córdoba, Córdoba, Argentina, are presented. The article aims to contribute to local history through the study of wooden remains recovered during archaeological impact work. The presence of three native woody plants (Vachellia sp, Neltuma sp and Schinopsis sp) and one non-local woody plant from the group of Gymnosperms used for the manufacture of construction material such as beams, sleepers, and posts, was recorded. Consequently, it is proposed that between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries people made use of the local woody vegetation and to a lesser extent imported non-local woody species for construction.Palabras Clave
