This article analyzes Argentine foreign policy after forty years of democracy, articulating the 'development models' and strategic political projects under debate in relation to the type of international 'insertion' in each phase. This article analyzes Argentine foreign policy after forty years of democracy, articulating the 'development models' and strategic political projects under debate in relation to the type of international 'insertion' in each phase. The article focuses on Argentina's insertion in the international political economy since the 1976 dictatorship, as a hinge of the Argentine crisis, the subsequent cycles of neoliberalism and interregnum of national-developmentalist processes. The research seeks to connect the structural processes of the world economy with the processes of development (and underdevelopment) in Argentina. The article contributes to the analysis of the current situation of the country facing the political- economic bifurcation of maintaining the semi-peripheral status or deepening the peripheralization of Argentina.
