A diferencia de la obra cinematográfica de Luis Saslavsky, su obra literaria es casi completamente desconocida. El presente trabajo analiza su novela policial A sangre fría, que hasta el momento no ha recibido ninguna atención de la crítica. Tal indagación se hace a la luz de la historia del género policial en la Argentina ?y en disidencia con la historiografía oficial del género? y, a su vez, a partir de un contraste con la obra cinematográfica del autor y, de manera más general, a partir de los vínculos con el imaginario cinematográfico de la época. Sostenemos que, al igual que en el ámbito del cine, también la literatura de Saslavsky contrasta fuertemente con las convenciones de la época: en particular en esta novela, Salavsky hace una utilización pragmática (Altman) del género negro y del imaginario cinematográfico. In contrast to the film work of Luis Saslavsky, his literature is almost completely unknown. This paper analyzes the crime novel A sangre fría-In Cold Blood-, which so far has received no critical attention. Such an inquiry is made in light of the history of the detective novel in Argentina and in disagreement with the official history of the genre. I also analyzes the novel in connection with the author´s film work and, more generally, in connection with the crime film and film noir of the time. I hold the view that, as in the field of cinema, Saslavsky´s literature also contrasts sharply with the genre conventions of the time: in particular in this novel, Salavsky makes a pragmatic use (Altman) of the hard-boiled school and some topics of the film noir and the film tradition.
