Different ways of taking care of oneself. How Argentinean gay men negotiate COVID-19 protocols for hooking-upEvent: Society of Latin American Studies Latin America in times of political mistrust and global pandemic - SLAS 2022, BathPanel: 20. Covid + intimate livesDuring a new wave of COVID, between April and June 2021, we conducted interviews with Argentinean gay men living in different cities. This presentation ?Different ways of taking care of oneself. How Argentinean gay men negotiate COVID-19 protocols for hooking-up? is an in-progress result of our research.This communication seeks to analyze how Argentinean gay men dealt with lockdowns and COVID restrictions in order to get their sexual desires satisfied. In doing so, the main goal of our research is to demonstrate that care can take several forms. We propose to think of caring as a big puzzle, composed of several pieces that may eventually fit, but sometimes does not happen. How gay men renegotiate the offical sanitary measures to prevent COVID let us know to explore particular usages of that instructions.
