Realizo estudios de los procesos bioquímicos y fisiológicos que ocurren durante la maduración de frutos y la senescencia de vegetales. Uno de los objetivos generales del trabajo es analizar la contribución de diferentes genes y enzimas al proceso de maduración de frutos, en particular al ablandamiento, y de senescencia de vegetales. El otro objetivo general consiste en encontrar diferentes tratamientos y estrategias que permitan extender la vida poscosecha de frutos y vegetales.
