Desarrollo de estrategias que permiten abordar de forma integrada las etapas de síntesis/diseños de proceso y de diseño de estructuras de control, utilizando como caso de estudio las redes de intercambio calórico. El objetivo de estas técnicas es lograr mejorar la eficiencia de procesos mediante la integración energética. Las mismas toman relevancias en procesos que involucran energías renovables. Respecto a la etapa de síntesis se ha trabajado con estrategias que permitan contemplar aspectos de flexibilidad del proceso. Se han abordado formulaciones multiperíodos y técnicas de optimización.
