El tema de investigación del Dr. Pellerano es el análisis y clasificación de muestras vegetales de interés alimentario, ambiental o medicinal mediante la combinación de técnicas experimentales (espectrometría atómica y molecular) y herramientas computacionales de quimiometría y minería de datos. Aplica también estas herramientas para el modelado de sistemas de aguas superficiales con especial interés en el posible impacto ambiental provocado por distintas fuentes de naturaleza diversa.
