ESTUDIOS SISTEMÁTICOS EN APIACEAE CON ENFÁSIS EN AZORELLA Y OTRAS PLANTAS ANDINAS Y PATAGÓNICAS. Mis investigaciones pretenden contribuir al conocimiento del origen y la diversificación de la flora andina y patagónica, mediante estudios filogenéticos en grupos de plantas con centros de diversidad en los Andes templados y regiones vecinas. Uno de estos grupos es Azorella, que actualmente tiene 59 especies, con una distribución principalmente andina y austral. Objetivos generales: - Alcanzar un conocimiento amplio e integrado del género Azorella y analizar su evolución en relación a los cambios geoclimáticos y bióticos que ocurrieron en los Andes y en Patagonia durante el Cenozoico. - Contribuir al conocimiento en otros grupos de plantas andinas y patagónicas mediante estudios sistemáticos (morfológicos, filogenéticos, taxonómicos, florísticos, biogeográficos). *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVALines of Investigation
