Desarrollo estrategias biotecnológicas de fito/rizorremediación, para abordar la contaminación asociada a prácticas agrícolas intensivas. Así, trabajo en dos aspectos centrales: 1-la búsqueda, caracterización bioquímico-molecular de la tolerancia y manejo in vitro y a campo de especies vegetales tolerantes a herbicidas, compatibles con la producción agrícola y 2- el aislamiento y caracterización de microorganismos rizosféricos o de vida libre degradadores de herbicidas, bajo un enfoque biotecnológico. En este sentido, luego de caracterizar bioquímica y molecularmente los microrganismos, analizo sus capacidades de promover el crecimiento vegetal y su crecimiento en sistemas agitados clásicos y con substratos económicos. Las estrategias incluyen técnicas de manejo agronómico, biostimulación con amendas y bioaumento por inmovilización de microorganismos o inoculación de semillas. Actualmente incluyo la restauración de suelos mineros, utilizando especies vegetales de potencial explotación económica como alternativa sustentable para los diferentes protocolos de cierre de mina.
