Claudio Galmarini es ing. Agrónomo de la Univ. Nac. de Cuyo (UNCu), MSc. en mejoramiento genético del IAMZ, España, y PhD en genética vegetal de la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison, EE.UU. Es investigador de la EEA La Consulta del INTA en el área de mejoramiento de hortalizas. Responsable de convenios de vinculación tecnológica. Obtentor de cultivares de cebolla, pimiento y zanahoria. Es investigador principal del CONICET. Profesor titular de Horticultura y Floricultura de la UNCu. Docente de carreras de posgrado. Dirigió el Doctorado en Agronomía de la UNCu. Presidió el grupo de trabajo sobre Aliáceas de la ISHS y la Asociación Argentina de Horticultura. Es miembro correspondiente de la Academia Nacional de Agronomía y Veterinaria. Su trabajo se vincula con el mejoramiento genético de hortalizas en especial de cebolla, zanahoria y pimiento, aplicando técnicas clásicas y de mejoramiento asistido. Los objetivos de su trabajo tienden a la diferenciación de hortalizas por sus propiedades benéficas para la salud humana y al agregado de valor por nuevos usos industriales. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
