Carlos J Pirola received his PhD in Biochemistry in 1984 (UBA) and has developed a research career in CONICET since then. He received training in Molecular Biology at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, USA. He is currently a Superior Investigator Ad Honorem of the CONICET, serving as the head of the Department of Systems Biology of Complex Diseases and Director of IDIM-CONICET (2008-2021), CAECHIS-UAI(2022-2023) and from 2023, the Center for Translational Research in Health, Universidad Maimonides. He is an International Fellow of the AHA and the AASLD. His primary interest is Systems Biology of the Metabolic Syndrome components, such as hypertension, obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and fatty liver, with several national and international awards and more than 220 publications in PubMed about Genetics, Epigenetics, Metabolomics, and Pathophysiology of these cardiometabolic diseases (Hindex:63). He was responsible for creating the first Center of Excellence in Translational Medicine in Argentina and is serving as a Reviewer and Editor of several International Journals. *Información suministrada por el agente en SIGEVA
