De formación de base bioquímica y farmacéutica, realizó investigación básica y aplicada en el área de la salud humana a través de la bioquímica de proteínas, la biología celular y las disciplinas ómicas. En los últimos años se dedicó a la caracterización molecular de tumores humanos mediante técnicas de genómica y proteómica, con aplicación en el desarrollo de técnicas pronósticas de recurrencia del cáncer y predictivas de la respuesta a la terapia.
