ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to carry out the technological analysis of a sample of lithic artifacts found in "Horco Molle" site, wich belongs to the Formative Period and is located in the Tucumán piedmont. This analysis focuses on the the technical and morphological aspects of the assemblege, the variability of raw materials that were used, and the localization of probable sourcing areas. The results suggest that most of the sample was manufactured in local raw materials (mainly quartz and quartzite), and a prevalence of expedient technological aspects were noticed.
