This symposium was developed through three axes, one dedicated toProterozoic and Paleozoic tectonics, a second dedicated to Meso to Cenozoictectonics and finally a last dedicated to seismo- and neotectonics in SouthAmerica and the analysis of its thermal regime and orogeny-scale morphology. Specific subjects cover a wide variety oftopics and regions of Argentina, Chile and Brazil, varying from structural analyses,U/Pb dating of detrital zircons in different rocks to determine source areas,magnetic data to determine indirectly heat flow and gravity data to determineflexure in vast areas of the continental crust, analyses of seismic lines,analogue and numerical modeling, geochemical and neotectonic analyses.
