Beyond the sharp criticisms and questions to which their interpretations have been subjected, the core methodological procedures introduced by processual archeology are still at the basis of any archaeological research program.Although the analysis of visual manifestations was not a main concern, the conceptual and methodological changes carried forward by processualists are derived in a particular way to look at the material culture and therefore had great influence on art studies.
