The questions that guide this research on the experience of workers’ struggle in the San Pablo sugar mill (Tucumán) between 1920 and 1965 focus on the processes of raising workers’ awareness about their rights, the ways of expressing their demands and the consolidation of a powerful union culture. Methodologically, the consultation of published and unpublished sources has been combined with interviews with former workers.
