Since the beginning of the third millennium, new perspectives originated in forensic and academic archeology will address the materialities of the genocide in the Argentine Republic (1975-1983). Based on an investigation in the so-called Pozo de Vargas (Tucumán), begun in 2002 and still in force, we present the partial results of the analysis of certain artifacts that allowed us to define –along with other evidence– the period in which it would have been used as a clandestine burial and also the year in which this underground construction was partially destroyed. The number of nominal identifications together with the strategies used to hide the Pozo de Vargas and its connection with other areas of Tucumán lead to consider it as one of the most important sites integrated into the extermination policy in Argentina.
