We present a Database Management System (DBMS) designed for the registration, consultation, and updating of information related to a set of spindle whorls, from archaeological sites in the Santiago del Estero plain area, which has been studied within the framework of ongoing research projects. The DBMS has predesigned forms that have made it possible to migrate data from the previous registry files (Excel) to the new system. For its design, the registration criteria of the previous system were considered, which were grouped into topics that define sections, arranged as tabs in each general file of the artifact. The system attend along the loading process with predefined variables, automatic calculation of indices, graphic assistants for the selection of contours, sections, and designs of each item. It has a filter system, can to save personalized searches, and generate reports in various formats, so the options for export are multiple. As a conclusion, the advantages represented by the change from the previous registration system to the DBMS for data entry, export, consultation, and analysis, based on comparison standards, from the systematic registration of the entered pieces, are presented.
