This work tries to link and reflect from different perspectives of interaction and mobility, the archaeological information of the Middle Salado river area, Santiago del Estero Province, Argentina (referring mainly to the pre-Hispanic populations of the end of the first millennium, and with colonial over-installation in some places). For this, three lines of analysis are proposed that cover different scales and problems. The first focuses on the archaeological antecedents that, from a historical review of the way of thinking about exchanges in this region, presents the sites as receiving nodes for external influences and exchanges. Then, a second analysis reflects on the social relations that these populations of the plain established, presenting current studies and problematizations about exchanges. Finally, from a current perspective, the paths of relationships between landscapes in motion, people and the mountains are traversed, observing different types of mobility registered in the area.
