Abstract In order to investigate the formation of ternary complexes of SMR and MEG with the cyclodextrins (CD): ß-CD, methyl-ß-CD and hydroxypropyl-ß-CD, the characterization of the obtained systems was done using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Termogravimetry (TGA) and it derivative curve (DTG). The thermal profiles of the lyophilized ternary systems (LTS) were compared with the ones of the pure components, ternary physical mixtures (TPM) and the corresponding lyophilized binary systems (LBS). The results suggest the formation of ternary complexes among SMR, MEG and the CDs (ßCD, MßCD o HPßCD) due to the differences that the STL thermal curves presented in comparison with the pure components, the LPM and the LBS curves.
