Áreas de interés especial en nuestro laboratorio incluyen el desarrollo y la aplicación de técnicas biofísicas para investigar la conformación y las interacciones en proteínas. Entre ellas se incluyen espectroscopías: de masa MALDI-TOF y ESI-MS, dicroísmo circular (CD), fluorescencia, resonancia magnética nuclear (NMR); medidas hidrodinámicas: dispersión de luz visible estática y dinámica (SLS y DLS), cromatografía de exclusión por tamaño (SEC-FPLC); y termodinámicas: calorimetría de titulación isotérmica (ITC). La modificación química de la cadena polipeptídica incluye el uso de reactivos específicos para aminoácidos, de clivaje de la unión peptídica y enzimas proteolíticas. En particular, desarrollamos nuevos métodos basados en la reacción fotoquímica de moléculas miméticas del solvente acuoso (diazirina) o de medios lipídicos de membrana (fosfolípidos fotoactivables). Para asistir en la interpretación de los resultados nos valemos de recursos bioinformáticos y de cálculos de mecánica molecular: dinámica molecular (MD y Monte Carlo) o métodos híbridos (QM/MM). *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
