Mi área de investigación se centra en las áreas naturales protegidas, principalmente en lo referido al estudio de la efectividad de manejo, la conservación y preservación de recursos naturales renovables, la gestión basada en ecosistemas y el análisis de problemáticas y conflictos ambientales. Mi trabajo contempla, a su vez, el estudio de los procesos de planificación turística y el desarrollo e implementación de actividades en contacto con la naturaleza
