Mi interés académico inicial fue en respuestas vegetales al ambiente, doctorándome en bioquímica/fisiología del estrés. Utilicé técnicas high-throughput en respuestas moleculares la estrés en un post-doctorado en el Max-Planck Fisiología Molecular de Plantas (Alemania); también estudiando factores de transcripción, interacciones simbióticas, homeostasis de nitrógeno y fotorespiración. Mi expertise se extendió a la biología molecular y celular en otra instancia post-doctoral en la Universidad de... Mi interés académico inicial fue en respuestas vegetales al ambiente, doctorándome en bioquímica/fisiología del estrés. Utilicé técnicas high-throughput en respuestas moleculares la estrés en un post-doctorado en el Max-Planck Fisiología Molecular de Plantas (Alemania); también estudiando factores de transcripción, interacciones simbióticas, homeostasis de nitrógeno y fotorespiración. Mi expertise se extendió a la biología molecular y celular en otra instancia post-doctoral en la Universidad de California San Diego (USA). Luego, en la Universidad de Ginebra (Suiza), desarrolle una línea sobre roles ambientales de la maquinaria epigenética, y eventualmente otra en evolución de parásitos genómicos en la Universidad de Cambridge (UK), adquiriendo amplio conocimiento bioinformático. Actualmente, impulso proyectos relacionados a silenciamiento epigenético, y evolucion y escape de retrotransposones en vegetales. Contribuí 39 artículos internacionales (38 publicados y 1 en revisión: 15 primer autor, 7 correspondencia, 2848 citas, H-índex 23), y me adjudicaron 3 proyectos FONCyT como IR
