Identificación de los mecanismos involucrados en la reparación del nervio olfatorio y los circuitos asociados, considerando fundamentalmente la participación de las células inmunitarias presentes en el mismo, tanto en su mantenimiento normal como en el proceso de regeneración luego de un daño y con especial atención en una glía especializada no mielinizante del nervio, llamada glía envolvente olfatoria, caracterizada por sus propiedades neurotróficas.
