Nuestro objetivo es estudiar la función de factores de virulencia y/o efectores proteicos de patógenos vegetales, particularmente virus y bacterias; y los mecanismos fisiológicos y moleculares en la respuesta de la planta que conducen a la enfermedad o resistencia del patógeno. Paralelamente estamos desarrollando herramientas genómicas que nos permiten estudiar la función génica en plantas pertenecientes a las familias de las Rutáceas y Solanáceas. Nuestro desafío es generar conocimientos para el desarrollo de métodos de diagnostico y genómicos para el control y/o prevención de las principales enfermedades que afectan los cultivos citrícolas (Huanglongbing, HLB y cancrosis) y hortícolas (virosis) en nuestro país. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
