La inflamación y las infecciones del tracto genital masculino pueden ser causas o cofactores de infertilidad. El 15% de los pacientes infértiles poseen un componente inflamatorio. Entre las patologías testiculares asociadas a infiltrados de células inmunes se encuentran el arresto de la espermatogénesis en sus diferentes grados. La participación directa de mediadores inflamatorios en el arresto premeiótico no ha sido dilucidada aún. En biopsias testiculares de pacientes infértiles con arresto de la espermatogénesis analizaremos la presencia de linfomonocitos, TNF-a, PRL y estrés oxidativo y la expresión de proteínas inhibitorias del ciclo celular.
