En el Grupo de Transformaciones de Fase y Propiedades Mecánicas se investigan y desarrollan aleaciones cuyas propiedades mecánicas están fuertemente vinculadas a transformaciones de fase de tipo no-difusivo denominadas martensíticas. Se establecen relaciones entre la síntesis y procesamiento, las estructuras y microestructuras, y la estabilidad y transformaciones de fase, con sus consecuencias sobre las propiedades mecánicas de materiales metálicos. Se identifican mecanismos de deformación asociados a transformación martensítica, maclado o deslizamiento plástico. Se desarrollan procedimientos para mejorar e innovar en las técnicas de elaboración de láminas y chapas por técnicas no-convencionales y por vías metalúrgicas. Se identifican tratamientos termomecánicos a fin de promover la estabilidad de las estructuras deseadas y optimizar sus propiedades frente a solicitaciones mecánicas y procesos de deformación.Se estudian aleaciones con memoria de forma (AMF) de base Cu, base Ni-Ti y base Fe-Mn; y aceros TRIP-TWIP de alta resistencia y ductilidad de base Fe-Mn. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
