El Dr. Iturburu el Lic. y Dr. en Cs. Biológicas, hoy en día Inv. Asist. CONICET en el IIMyC (CONICET, UNMdP). Su campo de conocimiento se enfoca en la Ecotoxicología. Tiene experiencia en el estudio de efectos de contaminantes químicos orgánicos en organismos en condiciones controladas de laboratorio, así como en el trabajo de campo para evaluar la contaminación en distintos ecosistemas. Ha estudiado respuestas de distintos biomarcadores bioquímicos y fisiológicos en distintos modelos biológicos expuestos experimentalmente a plaguicidas y fármacos. Además, ha determinado la presencia de plaguicidas y fármacos en cuerpos de agua en la provincia de Buenos Aires y Mendoza, y evaluado los efectos in situ de estos contaminantes sobre la biota. Posee experiencia en técnicas relacionadas a la evaluación del riesgo ecológico, de modo de integrar información de exposición y efecto, y ha asesorado en el establecimiento de niveles guía de productos químicos para la protección del ambiente. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
