Se demostró la potencialidad del proceso de biolixiviación de MP del SC en frascos agitados y en biopilas por medio de la actividad azufre y hierro oxidante de Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans y thiooxidans. Estudios de interacción entre biota y SC a través de la formación de biofilms sobre arcillas modelo. Procesos de precipitación de MP por bacterias con actividad sulfato reductora. Estudio microbiológico de consorcios con actividad hierro reductora y con características electrogénicas. Algunas metodologías analíticas: Espectrometría de Absorción Atómica, Microscopía Optica y Electrónica de Barrido, Espectrofotometría UV-Vis, Respirometría.
