La línea de investigación desarrollada se aboca principalmente a la comprensión del dinamismo y migración de elementos químicos (mayoritarios, minoritarios, trazas) en sistemas geotermales de Patagonia. La línea de investigación desarrollada se aboca principalmente a la comprensión del dinamismo y migración de elementos químicos (mayoritarios, minoritarios, trazas) en sistemas geotermales de Patagonia. Para ello se estudian diferentes compartimientos (arroyos, ríos, acuíferos, reservorios termales y humedales), así como rocas de origen ígneo, sedimentario y precipitados hidrotermales (travertinos y sínters). En este contexto, además de evaluar la calidad de las aguas, especialmente aquellas utilizadas para abastecimiento, se estudia el potencial geotérmico y de yacimiento mineral. De manera secundaria, también se ha trabajado en zonas de llanura en el litoral de la provincia de Buenos Aires y de Chubut, con el fin de determinar diferentes fuentes de contaminación, intrusión salina y reservas de agua dulce en zonas donde el recurso hídrico es limitado.
