Mi labor profesional se dirige hacia la sistemática y filogenia de invertebrados fósiles, principalmente moluscos bivalvos, con el objetivo de dilucidar las relaciones de parentesco entre las diferentes especies y reconstruir su historia natural. A su vez, me interesan las tendencias macroevolutivas y sus mecanismos de funcionamiento, principalmente en moluscos bivalvos, pero también su extensión hacia otros grupos de animales.
