Inicié mis actividades de investigación científica en el marco de la tesis de licenciatura, continuando a lo largo del doctorado, y posdoctorado con foco en el estudio del volcanismo de arco en distintos períodos de la evolución andina. Actualmente, estudio el comienzo de la actividad volcánica de arco en el jurásico y su vinculación con el desarrollo de cuencas extensionales mesozoicas, en particular, de la cuenca Neuquina, de gran interés petrolífero. El objetivo principal consiste en esclarecer la evolución del arco magmático, desarrollado bajo un régimen extensional y una configuración tectónica variable. Las metodologías utilizadas son relevamiento de campo, secciones estratigráficas y estructurales, y estudios petrográficos, geocronológicos, geoquímicos e isotópicos. Se espera que el estudio geoquímico e isotópico de diversas secuencias magmáticas asociadas a la actividad del arco permitan, a largo plazo, identificar rasgos composicionales que puedan ser usados como proxis para reconocer eventos tectónicos particulares. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVALines of Investigation
